Membership
The society is open to all who are interested in history, preservation, education, and genealogy. The main emphasis is on the history and genealogy of the city of Markesan and the surrounding area. You need not be a trained historian, only to be interested in it. We like our members to be active in the running of the society.
Dues
Annual membership dues are $10 per year (individual) or $100 lifetime for an individual or husband and wife. A membership application form is below, or just come to one of our meetings. You are welcome to attend one or two meetings to make up your mind without being pressured to sign up. Our members are members because they want to be, and that is why we are a success.
Newsletter
We are associated with the State Historical Society and the Wisconsin Council for Local History. Regularly the local newspaper carries articles of historical interest and gives news of our activities. A quarterly newsletter detailing activities at the museum is also sent to all members. From time to time we offer our members genealogy charts or other items of historical significance which can be purchased for nominal costs.
